Whispered Echoes

If time is an illusion then you can-t be late so here is The Caterpillar Dub for June 2018 -  For iconographic reasons the portrait of The Luminous Three had to be represented in a new way -  The figure of Quan Yin was drawn by Flora -  She also did the small horned creature which represents Lao Tsu and the caterpillar which represents a transformed emanation of Shakyamuni Buddha - Seems like a good symbolic animal for this purpose as the transformation of wiggling grub into a beautiful flying creature is a good illustration of the change that takes place on Enlightenment when the true nature of mind and reality is finally realized -

Muse Of The Palpitating Streets

Keep your secrets sweet - Muse of the Palpitating Street - I never forget those times we meet - palpitating muse in the street - Even on opposite sides of the Street - this kind of magnetism is powerful and complete - Serenely walk my way you glorious Muse and shine your rays into my crystal heart - let nature be nature and light the luminous path serene - subtlety emerging - naturally knowing - I know not how to know of the unseen -
In my crepuscular bat-wing chariot
I-ll swoop for you at dusk as day fades
to velvet scattered night -
chasing you across the sky
on the back of an albatross sea-going eagle -
the albatross-back of a muscular bat -
the mojo of a raven - a nightjar -
bumble-bees of the muttering night -
hollow shells whisper and dry leaves rustling -

knowing nothing I seek everything -
tasting everything
I know the ecstasy of no-thing-ness
flowing mind a tide of insubstantial bliss -
everywhere and nowhere all the time -
starfish wave and fishes backs
reflect the stars in the waves -
the moon pulls the water -
the earths surge - earth upon earth -
falling leaves in time - frozen in a puddle -
smoke curls up - starlings will take your mind -
why not let them -

Odd Mycology

The Mind - flowing with awareness like a river -
you can-t have a river without water -
you can-t have mind without awareness - they are the same thing - feeling - sensing - emoting - cognitive function and conceptuality - these are all aspects of the mind - all based on its fundamental ability to be aware - its awareness - simple awareness itself -
The mind can go through innumerable realms - ordinary - extraordinary - pure and impure - clear and deluded - sacred and profane - it-s all in the mind - what we perceive and what we conceive are all within the mind - where else - - - it-s the same mind - deluded or clarified - calm or agitated - the same mind -
Thoughts and beliefs and of course experiences can colour the personality or superficial layers of consciousness - Like a collection of ornate lanterns - personalities are the characteristic and unique containers for the universal and undifferentiated brilliance and radiance of awareness itself -
Almost 40 years ago I fueled my mind with the sacred Druidic fungi that blossom in the Autumn and have been used by humans for countless millennia - In the November issue of The Caterpillar I described my experience - in this Dub Issue of The Caterpillar I-ve re-mixed my impressions of this long-past experience into a piece of psychedelic art - seemed like the thing to do with it all these years later -

Ahead Of Thoughts

A baglamas and a travelling guitar balanced on a menhir - a fallen and ravaged menhir - tewlwolow dusk on Halloween -   just an everyday scene in the Shyre where the ancient past is right there with you to help you along your way -

An Morvil Kornek / The Horned Whale by Jeremy Schanche - available at all ebook distributors, in all formats!

An Morvil Kornek or The Horned Whale, by Jeremy Schanche, available now at all major ebook distributors, in all formats...
Plug in this electronic book and take a journey round the 'Shyre' -
Come to Penwithershins and check out the Underground as Old Janner shows Pat Vulgata round the labyrinths of the mine in The Janetta Stone.
Dark New Lynsmouth has seen many tribulations, but none so great as that set forth in The Kramvil, a gothic novel of eldritch and extraordinary phenomena which unwinds its thread through the twisting alleys of the Old Quarter.  When the studious Elias Gillpington runs into the audacious scientist Lazarus Taxon, the wings of fate soon becloud the Keltek sky.  As the shadow falls upon New Lynsmouth, Elias sees a glint of light in the presence of the beautiful Miss Constance Place.  The story pulses and pullulates with life like a seething vat of yeast infested by furious clouds of flies and wasps on a sunny day, in an ancient lithograph of old Bombay.  Potent, frothy, well-charged and heady, this electric manuscript will give you the skittering jitters and chill your rattling trotters.
The collection of Poems will most likely sneak up on yous from downwind and lasso yous off to a land of golden sunshine, rustling leaves and phonographs furling out foxtrots 'fore rustling ya rational-mind and dry-gulching yous in Tuskaloosa or somewheres or some or other such place.
Next, for the word-hungry among ye, we have a couple of glossaries to teach the tongues of talking.  First be the Gerlyvryn Kernouac which explains some words of the ancient Cornish language which appear in the stories.  Then we have the International Glossary which covers words from overseas, ancient and modern, as well as some archaic forms of Sowsnek, or 'English'.
For our closing act, we have Ghost-Hulk of a Phantom, a darkly comic portrait of a struggling writer - a halucinatory roulade of oceanic fervour - a splattering of adrenalin on a canvas of vast cabbage-fields.
To cut a John Dory short and chase the choice cuts I gotta say that An Morvil Kornek or The Horned Whale is the kind of book the lack of which would crook and rook up your reading-life by an absence of the positive presence of its very special form of effervescence.
There's 21 different ebook distributors selling The Horned Whale, including  Amazon, Apple (itunes), Baker and Taylor Blio, Baker-Taylor Axis 360, Barnes and Noble, Diesel, Flipkart, Gardners Extended Retail, Gardners Library, Inktera (formerly Page Foundry), Kobo, Library Direct, Odilo, OverDrive, Oyster, Scribd, Smashwords, Sony, Tolino, txtr, Yuzu, etc..  so there's a version out there to suit everyone.....  what follows are just a few of them - I'll put up the rest as they 'go live'...

Something in the sky, winging its lazy way along, summer drowze and cloud-tower crumbling cumulus cubist constructions loom - the breeze lively blows through plate-armour of the Stegosaurus stenops.......  and sun's rays echo through the cloud-caps' madcap aether

Самиздат Brythonek Dub Version

Nagas, Snake-Lords, saddhus, a golden dusty afternoon in Dreamindia of Rishis and protoyogis, entranced forever in realms of past-forgotten time.
Blue green rustle the leaves of bamboo, the breeze curls round the mountain, dispersing the mist.  A lonesome flute loops round the rocky fastness, colouring the breeze that curls and licks the trees.  The old sage peeps out of his cave.  A little dragon flutters by.
Ice shatters in caves of crystal glistening prismatic stalactites, Stegosaurus stenops staggers stunned inoperable.
And in ya cities the action rumbles.

A poster for The Caterpillar Dub - print some copies and glue them to the walls of your town....

Delyo Sivy, picking strawberries down Kernow way in the long ago old-time summer of brambles, swallows, hay-ricks and hedges, when mallows rattled sedges and mellow flowed the summer-clouds.

Just a perfect Writhing, emerging - botanical  [binomial]   They are unique to each and Earth metamorphos’d into  An event  -  not only capable of  Eternity yawning on Thorn-fires at dawn - the story is partly based on luminous plants and it was about ten o’clock and the sun was shining brilliantly;  much like romance and home-made science, which they bring into existence more or less - the soft Creation slept  monstrous and everything was looking lovelier for the yesterday’s rain -  that soule which now comes up to you till foure a clocke in the afternoone, and explores the origins of sweet hills at the end, to dissolve gradually, subterranean;  and to enact the dream-like reflection of disappearing.

Underneath The Yellow Lights

THE PUNK JUNK SKUNKS
A wave of musical anarchy/amphetamine/adrenaline that
changed Britain, and the World, forever.
From the tower-blocks and dole-queues of London, back in the mid-seventies, was born a new monster, a creature that would turn against the hallowed gods of rock with a frenzied rending and rapid four/four phrasing, barked out against a backdrop of exploding chaos to a crowd of raging maniacs.  This beast would soon consume all in its path and infiltrate all corners of the industry before spawning a nebulous cluster of styles that would reverberate into the next century. Punk bubbled up from the streets like cess from a ruptured sewer and soon its heady fragrance filled the airwaves and blasted from the turntables of countless teenage bedrooms.  The monster was at large - waking up England and kicking over the odd apple-cart along the way.
